The Bucket

blog, News · November 23, 2017

A seemingly innocuous item, a five gallon bucket. But with it, comes hope.

On The Ground Aid’s Buckets are filled with amazing resources for after a natural disaster. With a little bit of ingenuity, and plenty of easy to decipher instructions, these buckets turn into a powerhouse of utility very easily.

Each bucket contains:

  • Ceramic water filter
  • Instructions on how to turn the Bucket into a Water Filtration System
  • Dehydrated food, focusing on protein
  • Water bottle
  • Tarps
  • First aid kit
  • Work gloves
  • Solar battery charger
  • Multi-vitamins
  • Sanitary napkins
  • Hand sanitizer

We also have larger buckets suitable to families, that include:

  • Diapers
  • Formula

We also customize The Bucket depending on where it’s headed. Other items it may include:

  • Hand warmers
  • Rocket Stove
  • LED flashlights
  • Wool socks
  • Multi-tools

These Buckets are invaluable after a disaster, and help lift the burden off of families during a chaotic time. Through careful examination of past disasters, and seeing the immediate needs after a tragedy, we’ve been able to isolate the most needed items and create a system where we can deliver them as quickly as possible.

Would you like to help fund a Bucket for a family in need? You can donate here.
